Physical Description

Beast Mode

Wolf spider. A dark gray spider with a large, hairy body and long, thick legs. The markings on its abdomen give some the impression of a snarling wolf; black, white and light brown stripes on its back point toward a central point, like crossed swords. Void has six shining black eyes and massive, intimidating mandibles.

Robot Mode

The metal of his heavily armoured arms and torso is dull charcoal gray, with a synthetic camouflage overlay that changes its pattern to best suit the environment. A heavy, powerful frame and long, sturdy legs add to Void's wolfish appearance. He lopes when he moves; he crouches when standing still; he never relaxes and always seems about to lunge.

Personality

Void, the vicious, ambitious, sociopathic social climber and government contract killer, has a definite ‘Kill ‘em all, pile their bodies in a shallow grave’ mentality about him. He represents the worst the Predacons have to offer -- even most other Predacons find him rather extreme. Of course, there *is* a distinct ‘bad is good’ movement abroad in the faction at times, so Void’s popularity can very changeable, depending on the company he keeps. Void has no friends, but few enemies, either... Having had killed them all, of course. He isn't much of a people person.

Neither is he especially bright, except in the specialized sense that comes of having his primary function hardwired into him. He adapts poorly to any outside chain of command, for similar reasons. What he is is true to his programming, obeying his handlers without question and wary of any other authority, to the point of acute paranoia. He was designed from the ground up as a solo operative, never really intended to integrate into other units. Too aggressive by half, he needs to maintain control but lacks the circuits to lead.

As is a common trait among Predacons, Void is frustrated by his innate design limitations, but his neural net is safeguarded against developing the capacity to understand or circumvent them.

Armament

  • "Abyss" - A vacuum sword: literally, a sword-shaped door through space-time, leading into nowhere. Cuts with the razored edge of a singularity; gives off an aura of the airless, frigid cold of space. A stolen prototype from early in his career, which Void treasures beyond reason, and which he guards jealously. Sentimental reasons. It's said he sleeps with it.
  • Chaos 'Hammer' - A subspaced chain gun, the visible portion appears as a ring of eight barrels that encloses the stock and trigger, form-fitted to Void's hand. Very little kick thanks to inertial dampeners, which makes it considerably more accurate than other similar weapons, at least at close range. Extremely rapid-fire, doing heavy damage and penetrating most armour by sheer attrition.
  • Atomic Debinder - A small, nondescript handgun. Mid-range, mid-high rate-of-fire, decent accuracy. Fires 'probability bombs', invisible fields of...something-or-other, about 5-8 inches wide. The anomalies, upon coming into contact with matter, will rearrange atoms and chunks of molecules at random. This has little effect on gases or liquids. It speeds through air and slows in water. It buries slowly (and painfully) through solid matter. The effects on organics are horrific; the experience for bots is no picnic either. Dealing extensive, hard-to-repair damage at a rapid rate, if Void brings out the Atomic Debinder then he *really* wants you dead. All of Void's weapons are subspace-chained; they will return to their subspace pockets and lock if he is ever put into stasis.
  • Energy Restraints - A bounty hunter's stock in trade, Void keeps force cuffs, neural suppression collars, restraining bolts and energy webs all close to hand in his ample subspace storage units.

History

Set on the hunt in a distant borderland of space, Void was one of many to be snared in the Enclave's wormhole traps. His personal ship, the Oblivion Avatar, was lost to the swamps of the Rock, and after some misgivings he joined with Mandate and the Predacons of the Kismet.

He was considered lost after an ill-fated scout mission, only to reappear much later, one of the failed converts of the Enclave's growing army. Joining in the final battle, Void was in his glory... Now, two years later, he finds himself a virtual prisoner aboard the Maximal ship the Sleipnir. No chains, true, but reined in by Maximal weakness.
