Physical Description
Alternate Mode
Larger than average hulking heavily armoured personell carrier designed for transporting around 5 medium-sized TF's. The construction is a standard bulky four-panel box with heavy vehicle treads. The front fender has a menacing spike claw 'cowcatcher' the rear end is a typical drop-down door for rollout deployment. On the topside is a heavy machine gun bay which may be operated by a 'gunner' TF.
Robot Mode
Large but somewhat squat, hulking robot. Rollouts face is large, wide and thick jawed. A single thick strip of silver runs from his forehead to the back in a mohawk fashion. Red optics beguile his otherwise chummily expression. Forearms and legs are modularly attached to the vehicle mode tank treads. The front face of the APC makes up the chest section, while the back half forms the body. The front fender can be detached and used as a forearm claw. The rear-hatch door can be detached and used as a forearm shield.
Personality
Rollout is a big boy with a big personality. He absolutely loves being big. He loves having higher energy demands. He loves having to sometimes duck to get inside a building. While he lords his size over his smaller counterparts he is no bully. He is more alike a big brotherly giant who simply lives life to the max. He is generally well liked and most feel better by simply knowing that he is fighting on their side. More straight-laced Autobots might feel uncomfortable because of his belligerence and simple-minded reasoning.
Unfortunately he is not the brightest nor disciplined spark on the block and is prone to being governed by his emotions. If something is in his way, he'll smash it. If he can't climb a slope, he'll level it. He loves charging straight into the heat of battle. Especially against those he despises the most, the Decepticons. Having lost many a friend and ally to them it is not unusual for Rollout to disregard orders and pursue retribution, putting him and those who he has unwittingly convinced to follow him at risk. This headstrong nature is something he recognises but appears unwilling to part with, indicating perhaps there is something beyond simple lack of aptitude.
All said, he is a fiercely loyal soldier who, when not blinded by his headstrong emotions, prioritises the safety of his comrades and is willing to risk his life in a microsecond.
Elemental Key Function
Light: "Gooooooooood Morning Cybertron!". The light necromatic cyber key unlocks the true power of Rollouts mobile command hub and shoots out a morale boosting charged transmission to all Autobots connected. The key's power may drive off negative status effects and revitalises the energy of weary so they can fight on. Affected Autobots also interface better with the enhanced command hub and are able to synchronise/coordinate with their allies without vocal communication (pseudo-telepathy). Naturally Rollout himself also experiences the aforementioned effects.
Note: Does not heal injuries
Inventory
Weapons & Special Abilities
- Claw Arm - Made up of the menacing front fender it can be attached to Rollouts forearm to augment the damage caused by his physical blows.
- Heavy Machine Gun - While this may be considered a heavy weapon when operated by a medium sized TF in Rollouts alternate mode this weapon can be operated single handedly by Rollout himself in robot mode and is his principal firearm. Does not actually need to be TF operated in alternate mode.
- HE Grenades - Hand hurled. Big bang.
- Hatch Shield - The armour plated rear drop-down hatch in Rollouts alternate mode becomes a personell shield in robot mode. It's not nearly large enough to protect his whole body but is cheap protection for smaller TFs
- Tank Treads - Attached to the forearms and legs of Rollouts robot mode. The forearm modules can be activated to produce a brutal grinding weapon in a melee combat. The leg modules can shift forward under his feet to become rollerskates which while do not enhance speed, provide easier transport over sandy or marsh terrain.
Equipment
- Internal Communique Hub - A mobile command hub which can automatically process information in the heat of conflict. It monitors the position and status of allies and enhances the communications quality and range of linked Autobots. Unfortunately this piece of equipment feeds off Rollouts limited neural network and therefore the processing power decreases whenever his neural demands increase.
- Medikit - Injured TFs make take refuge in Rollouts alternate mode and hopefully make use of this modest piece of inventory because he sure as hell cant.
Traits
- Heavyset - Due to extensive structural modifications, Rollout's centre of gravity isn't quite where he's supposed to be and he really hasn't gotten around to working his balance out so a large force is likely to knock him off balance.
- Strong Arm - Can lift really heavy things and hurl objects fantastic distances. (basis: hand grenade -> 1 mile)
History
Rollout's early history was as a fairly ordinary non-combat transformer. His life was a steady white line before he was involved in a devastating industrial accident. His saviours, the Autobots, reconstructed him into a fully fledged fighting machine. His new body amazed him and while his spark retained its essence, outwardly this supremely boosted his personality, confidence and self-esteem. To repay the Autobots, he joined their ranks in the armed forces.
In the Autobot army Rollout earned a reputation as brilliant solider. However being somewhat unconditioned to warfare prior to his career, he saw much destruction and many friends fall beside him. Half-blaming himself while half-hating the decepticons these experiences caused him to develop an extremely offensive mindset which allowed him to perform incredible acts of valor, but put a considerable amount of risk on the mission and those who served with him.
Thus it was Autobots command's decision to promote him to supporting role as a troop transport, modifying his body to make him larger and stronger but decreasing his combat proficiency. Many disagreed with this 'clipping of wings' but had to agree that he was the perfect candidate for such a supporting role. As for Rollout himself, he never complained much. Being larger and stronger and in a perfect position to protect his fellow comrades is all he could ask for.
Commanders’ Notes
- Ultra Magnus - Rollout is a fine soldier who I am proud to have on my team. I've heard he works best under direct supervision.
Known Acquaintances
Coldfront - frequently encountered adversary. Has had many bad experiences with him.
