RPG Summary

Deniable assets. Mercenaries. Independent contractors. Dysfunctional family. Freaks. Many words could be used to describe the group called Unicron's Mercs, after its original commander. Not all of these words are printable. However, it is they who are called upon to do the dirty work of defending the Predacon Empire-- or perhaps, the universe itself.

Assuming they don't all kill each other first, which is always a possibility.

By request of the Moderator, this board has been rated "PG-14" due to strong language.

In Depth

Predacon Base is one of our longest ongoing Beast Wars Transformers boards. It tends to feature darker content than the others and also has some of the more well developed characters.

The plotlines and characters of the now archived Ultimate RPG and Cybertronian Alpha RPG have been merged into Predacon Base, and this RPG is likely soon to be renamed Cybertronian Alpha (the fourth incarnation now) in honor of its new primary setting.

Current Mission

The Sleipnir and Storm's Eye II dock at CA3 station. Under the terms of a cease fire with the station's forces, Unicron's Mercs are to turn over Cyan to the authorities. Only, they don't have Cyan. What they do have is Delilah in a Cyan disguise. Delilah escapes during the handoff though, and wreaks havoc before being recaptured and carted off. Unicron's Mercs are charged with capturing Cyan and Jungle, who are somewhere on the station, probably plotting to rescue Icerunner from her public execution by smelting pit, coincidentally scheduled for that very afternoon.

The Mercs get right on their task.. yeah, right. Actually the two crews disperse throughout the station, mostly in the Promenade, encountering time travelers, a contraband encryption doohickey, and booze. The execution is nearing though, and Cyan has been spotted in the high end mercenaries club known as Ca'Vin's

Current Roster of Characters

Residents of Cybertronian Alpha

Some of these characters have only been on the station half an hour, but if they're not from one of the other groups, they're listed here.

Denizens of Ca'Vin's

A lot of these are cameos:

Organizations

  • Tripredicus Council - Though Unicron's Mercs have no official connection to the Tripredicus (few things do), they are bankrolled and given most of their missions by it.
  • Purification - Revolutionary group that seeks to 'purify' Transformers of all offworld influence and illogical attributes. Operates as a hive mind, led by former Unicron's Merc Logic.
  • Diversified Technical Concepts, aka DTC - large corporation that helped Unicron's Mercs in a recent mission, and has since given them equipment and personnel (Mandate) in accordance with a secret contract signed by Prism.
  • Predacon Secret Police, aka PSP - Lightspeed's employer at the time of her action in the Tygress War.
  • Maximal Secret Police, aka MSP - No known direct involvement, but Cyan and Jungle have past connections to it and are suspected by some to be active MSP agents.
  • Lightspawn- Prism and Lightspeed's future family, a notorious mercenary counter-ops unit.

Previous Missions

ADV 15

The space ship Storm's Eye II is floating dead in space, many light years from Cybertron, as a result of the spatial anomaly* that engulfed it at the close of the previous mission. All Predacon Base characters are inside, alive but in stasis. The Storm's Eye is discovered by the Sleipnir, last seen attempting to escape The Rock on the Ultimate RPG. Since then two years have passed, the Enclave has been defeated and several more Predacon castaways have been taken on board. They are finally approaching the first Cybertronian outpost, a Predacon controlled space station.

The Sleipner crew, with some doubts, mounts a rescue mission. Unbeknownst to them, both they and the Storm's Eye have passed into a parallel universe, from different origin universes, and the source of all this dimensional weirdness is the space station they are approaching-- none other than Cybertronian Alpha!

ADV 14

The Storm's Eye II takes off from Cybertron in a hurry. Missions accomplished. The Tripredicus Council informs the crew that their leadership challenge ended in a tie, but it doesn't matter because they intended to award leadership to Lightspeed all along. Sex does little to console Prism. Meanwhile, a mysterious message from the surface tries to enlist the Mercs in a mission to save another universe, and perhaps all universes. Lightspeed is immediately suspicious. New arrival Cyan is quickly connected to the messenger, and she immediately begins antagonizing the crew in hit and run attacks.

Meanwhile, Faust snatches Ifrit out of CR and imprisons him via some extra-dimensional mumbo-jumbo. Delilah appears on the ship in his place.

Cyan is found by Sphinx, and the two discuss Cyan's mission to save the multiverse over a cup of tea. The tea is laced with sleeping powder which affects them both. The others discover them sound asleep. Cyan and Sphinx are brought to Sick Bay, where Cyan is to be interrogated.

When Sphinx wakes up, she notices that both Crucifix and Sin are gone. She correctly presumes that this is very bad. She discovers Sin violating Crucifix, and she destroys Sin's body in retaliation. She would have killed him outright, but she discovered that his spark is indestructable. Having sustained serious wounds herself, she stumbles back to Sick Bay with Crucifix and Sin's spark. Sphinx and Crucifix are put into CR, while Sin's spark is put in stasis to be dealt with later.

The arrival of Mandate, bearing gifts from the DTC, diverts Lightspeed and Prism from the interrogation. This gives Delilah an opening to wreak havoc in Sick Bay. She kills Vamp, steals Sphinx's identity, and also steals Cyan's head, then goes to mess with Lightspeed's welcoming party for Mandate. Her Sphinx disguise is seen through quickly due to bad acting, but she doesn't go down easily. In fact, she doesn't go down at all until she somehow sparks a spacial anomaly that knocks out the crew and sucks the whole ship into another dimension.

Forum History

First there was Unicron as moderator, he did the Tygress Saga, and it was cool, but then he left. OpMax took over, started a new story arc taking place a decade later, then disappeared halfway through the first mission. The mission got picked up and bumped along, and Riboflavin and Psyckogod have traded off primary modship back and forth ever since.
