Matrix War

Eons ago, Cybertron was ruled by a council of five, each holding a matrix. These matrices were given to assist them in ruling... the Matrix of Leadership for the one who would lead the council; the Matrix of Power for the one who would be the military leader; the Matrix of Wisdom, to be given to the Oracle of Cybertron to discern the will of Primus; the Matrix of Knowledge to be given to the Sage of Cybertron, the keeper of knowledge; and the Matrix of Creation, given to the one who holds the key to the creation of new life on Cybertron. The council ruled for many millenia, until it was betrayed by one of its own. Maximo, the holder of the Matrix of Power, enlisted the Quintessons to help him take over Cybertron. But he was double-crossed and had to go into hiding, just like the rest of the council members. Now, eons later, their feud is re-lit.

In the aftermath of the Spark War, everyone was left wondering what happened to Cybertron. It was no longer a planet-wide metropolis, but, instead, a planet wide jungle of cyber-organic material. In the depths of Cybertron, something stirred. Something ancient, something angry at the transformation. This was not supposed to happen. This was not the will of Primus. Deep within Cybertron, Vector Sigma awakened and called to the remnant of what was, hoping someone would get the message.

In the depths of space, someone was listening. Someone equally as ancient, and equally as angry about the turn of events on Cybertron. Through a link only they shared, the two communicated. The Oracle had overstepped his bounds, and it was time to put him back in his place. It was time for the council of five to return to Cybertron. Before this could happen, though, the Matrix of Leadership had to be found. Blue optics glowed in the depths of an asteroid that had been hurling through space for eons. A body, equally as old moved for the first time in all that time. Libros, the holder of the Matrix of Knowledge, walked down the corridor of the cave within the asteroid and stepped out onto the surface, gazing at the stars once again. For the council to reform, the Matrix of Leadership must be found, and the Matrix of Power had to be wrested from the hands of the most evil entity in the universe... the Liege Maximo. Only after all of this, could Libros and Vector Sigma reform the council. First and foremost, Vector Sigma had to be protected from the Oracle, the entity that was once a Transformer, just as Libros still was, and just as Vector Sigma had once been. There was much work to do, and Libros had to initiate it.

On Cybertron, Cheetor was having problems of his own. He had managed to bring everyone together, but nobody remembered who they were, or what had happened. He had to start from scratch, telling them of the Spark War, then try to lead them. He didn't feel ready for this, but someone had to do it. It was the will of the Oracle for Cybertron to be this way, and he wasn't about to argue. He had appointed Silverbolt as his second in command, and was looking into trying to get to the moons of Cybertron to see if anything had survived up there. They need a base to operate out of to make sure Cybertron was safe from invasion. The only problem was, all of the shuttles were buried underneath the techno-organic surface, if they had survived the explosion at all. Cheetor had organized everyone into parties to search through the rubble underneath the surface, to see if anything could be salvaged, but so far, they had turned up nothing.

Meanwhile, in the depths of Cybertron, the Oracle of Cybertron, the ancient Transformer who had orchestrated all of this, sat back in his hidden chamber, watching. A demented smile played across his face, as the madness in his spark continued to thrive. He knew Vector Sigma was angered, and he knew the Knowledgekeeper had been awakened. If he had to, he would employ the Liege Maximo for his purposes, but he wasn't going that route just yet. In Cheetor, he had someone just young enough, and just inexperienced enough to follow what he was saying as if it came from Primus himself. He chuckled to himself. Let them search for their precious Leadership Matrix. He would not yield to it again. He was in control of Cybertron, and he would keep it that way.
