Ju'l

Also known as the Northern continent, this floating landmass is predominantly ferromagnetic material, kept aloft by the natural polar flux that Lith produces. Ju'l is a Pol' term that describes not only the main continent itself, but also the surrounding isles, as the Pol' regard the entirety of Ju'l to be their home. The Northern continent was originally terrestrially bound by the frictional forces exerted on it by Lith's tectonic plates, which allowed life to grow there in the first place. It was only several millions of years ago that Ju'l was lifted to its current location by Lith's magnetic flux, resulting in a gradual dissipation of the atmosphere, ground-based nutrients, and subsequently all native life save for the sunshroom. Due to its precarious elevation, Ju'l acts as a shield for the frequent meteor showers experienced by Lith. These showers are a constant threat to Ju'l's native life and are one of the main causes of premature death amongst the Pol'.
