Summary

Goffelsby, an animated skeleton, was fished out of waters close to Dispaterland by George Whaley and has followed him around ever since. It is widely speculated that Goffelsby was a skeleton mascot who either malfunctioned or was mag-mutated when conjured by Dispaterland wizard overlords. George views the idiotically jovial skeleton as a nuisance and despite his numerous attempts to abandon and destroy the mascot, Goffelsby has proved to be virtually indestructable and manages to find it's way back to George without fail.

However it may seem, Goffelsby is not completely brainless. He can understand simple Lithian and George has even managed to teach him a few tricks to make him handy about the ship. Being virtually mute (apart from a few pre-programmed sound clips such as chirps, bonks and whistles), Goffelsby communicates by sign or mime. Goffelsby's strength and magic seems to be limited by his programming. While normally he is about as strong as could be expect by a animated skeleton on occasion he has demonstrated superhuman strength. Similiarly his magical abilities seem to be limited to pre-programmed tricks such as conjuring flowers or mini-fireworks but on occassion has conjured gifts for George that would be considered outside the scope of a theme-park mascot (such as a Playboy magazine).

In summary Goffelsby tends to be curious, playful and easily distracted. He loves to entertain and walks about in silent 'jangly-shamble'. It is not known whether he does this by choice or if it is the only way he knows how.
