Summary
Educated in both science and magic, like all Decclan, Dogen was recruited by Duncan Sachs during the travels of his younger days. Originally, it was only a temporary contract, but Dogen took a 'bullet' (really a spell) meant for him, so to speak, causing Sachs to rethink terms. She has been serving him in some capacity ever since. She has subsequently picked up a great deal of etiquette, food preparation and housecleaning.
- 6ft 1in, 160lb. Athletic and very beautiful, with gray-streaked hair that suggests she is older than she looks.
- Gas Grenades - Knockout gas. Pull and throw.
- Plasma Hand Cannon - Globules of superheated plasma. At full power, it can reduce a man to ash - though likely not a Gila, interestingly enough. At lower levels the projectile is smaller, with less 'splash' effect. Plasma hits with heavy force, pierces most armour, cauterizes any wounds it makes and leaves ugly scars - apparently not limited to the enemy. Dogen wears thick polymer gloves, both to protect herself and hide the blisters and welts of scar tissue that remain from early tests with her favourite weapon.
- KA Sniper Rifle - Duncan is the only one aware she has this. A prototype designed to be truly invisible, it comes packed in a ready-made case, split into nondescript pieces (fully operational KA appliances, such as an electric razor, music box, a toothbrush) which can be assembled into an odd, rather clunky-looking but nevertheless very functional weapon. The only thing it lacks is bullets. It can be made to fire an electrical charge, but energy weapons being so distinctly KA, normal bullets are considered preferable...at least until their guns make it onto the open market.
- Telekinesis - Dogen can, with some difficulty, pick up and move objects as big as a refrigerator using only the power of her mind.
- She displays a certain protectiveness over her fellow servant Roud, almost motherly - and has taken it upon herself to see to his education.
- KA diplomatic envoy: Kuai, Ushko, Duncan Sachs, Roud.
