Physical Description

Alternate Mode

Banzai is a blue Mazda RX-8 with a white racing stripe down the center. He has a spoiler on his trunk (wing for those of you who don't know what a spoiler is) and white racing rims.

Robot Mode

When transformed, the front of his vehicle mode acts as his chest. His legs are made up of the back half of his car body. His doors swing out to make what look like wings behind him. His head, which wears a Roman Centurian's helmet, with a white raised ridge down the center, has a normal, Cybertronian face, with ice blue optics. An identifying feature is that he has a scar across the left side of his face from a knife fight he had with an old enemy. In honor of that enemy, whom he killed in hand to hand combat, he keeps the scar.

Personality

Banzai has been called crazy by some of his past commanders. Others call him careless. How he has kept from getting killed thus far is anybody's best guess. He is a seasoned veteran of the Civil War, having fought since its inception with the Autobots. However, he is still very much the maverick.

Banzai loves to talk about and show off his quite extensive knife collection. He has been working on this collection since he found his first one on a battlefield several million years ago.

Banzai lives for speed. He loves racing around the battlefield, dodging shots and taunting his enemies. Banzai is very confident in his abilities, and will try anything once. He has a boyish flair to him, even though he reached maturity a few thousand years ago. But he doesn't let that get in his way. He loves taunting his enemies, knowing that eventually, they'll make a mistake he can capitalize on.

On the other hand, there is a depth to Banzai that no one could guess from his service record. He actually does think about what he is doing before he does it. Usually, it is part of a well formulated plan that he put together, but didn't consult the other members of the team about. That's where the crazy part comes in. He does what he has planned, completely surprising the other members, who were neither suspecting, nor prepared for things to happen as fast as Banzai makes them happen.

Recently, though, he has begun to settle down and settle into his position as the second in command of Ultra Magnus' team. It is not lost in him that he is the only one left of the old team, and that Ultra Magnus depends on him to bring the new team together.

Elemental Key Function

Elemental Air: Whirlwind Blast, Banzai can generate a mini-tornado that can blow everything within a 1 kilometer radious around him away from him. He can concentrate it and aim it at one opponent or one group of opponents once every 5 attacks.

Inventory

Weapons & Special Abilities

Disruptor Pistol - Banzai carries a small disruptor pistol that shoots an ion disruptor pulse. The pulse envelopes and drains the energy of the target. It has an area of effect of 5 meters and dissipates at 50 meters.

Throwing Knives - Banzai has an array of throwing knives, which are small and light and are concealed in a compartment behind his wrist. When he goes to use them, he flicks his wrist and one slips out into his hand.

Dueling Knife - Banzai carries a fighting knife with a 2ft split blade. Each side has a groove cut into it to allow it to pass easily into and be pulled back out of its quarry. He carries it on his left side in a shieth. It has a black onyx hilt, with an emerald stone set in the end. When fighting with this knife, Banzai tucks it against his wrist martial arts style. This allows him to either cut, stab or punch during a fight.

Hand Grenades - Banzai always carries an assortment of hand grenades. His arsenal when on a mission consists of 5 stun grenades; and 10 smoke grenades. The stun grenades have an area of effect of 20 meters, effectively stunning anything within that radius for a period of up to 10 minutes, depending on the strength of the character. The smoke grenades simply pour smoke into the air, causing much meyhem and confusion. He carries these grenades in a compartment on his right leg.

Equipment

Hand-Held Data Computer - Banzai has had this computer for ages now. He's been working with it and upgrading it since the first years of the Civil War, building it into a high tech hacking machine. It has an interface that can hook into most systems, with a universal adapter that he can configure to just about any type of hookup he wants. The actual computer is palm-sized. One of the attachments attaches directly into his processing unit, making him and the computer effectively one. Using this connection, he is more quickly able to hack into any system he wants to with minimal danger of being caught. However, Banzai is a bit on the conceited side, and leaves a fingerprint in every system he has hacked, just so people know he's been there (unless he is specifically ordered not to do this, the fingerprint will be left). His specialty is hacking communications systems, though he can hack into any system with ease. He stores all of the data coming into his computer directly into his processing unit, removing the necessity of carrying disks or any other storage device. However, he does have a disk drive that attaches to the computer that he can retrieve and store hacked data on when it comes time to transfer it.

Whetstone - Banzai always carries a small, smooth stone with him that he uses to sharpen his knives. It is grey in color and gritty to the touch. It is shaped like a rectangular block.

Traits

Banzai is a maverick spirit, and whenever he gets too stressed, returns to his roots. This trait has gotten him into some pickles in the past, and, if known by his enemies, can be exploited to their advantage.

Banzai's mortal enemy is Bludgeon, and he has been known to ignore his mission in the hopes of finally ridding the universe of what he sees as a dark blight. This loss of focus can also be exploited to his enemy's advantage.

History

Shortly prior to the outbreak of the Cybertronian Civil War, Banzai was a courier for an important business group and enjoyed what he did. He would do his work during the day, which consisted of racing around the city, delivering packets of information and what not. He kept up with the Games, and idolized warriors like Grimlock, who was his favorite. When the civil war first erupted, he got caught up with a street gang called the Black Dawn, who idolized the arena fighters and wanted to start their own touring arena group. Eventually, the war caught up with them and they joined the Decepticons. Banzai actually fought in a battle with the Decepticons, but changed his mind when he witnessed them slaughtering captives after the battle. As a result, he learned much about war before most Autobots.

He spent years hiding and moving, keeping out of sight of the Decepticons, except when he absolutely needed to go out. The Decepticons called him the blue blur, because he would dart in and back out before they were able to pinpoint him. He was content living this way until the Decepticons cracked down and either killed or ran all of the Autobots and Neutrals out of his home city. This is where his enmity with Bludgeon began. Bludgeon was responsible for taking out most of Banzai's friends single-handedly. However, Banzai was good enough in a hand to hand fight, that Bludgeon wasn't able to beat him. Finally, realizing he wasn't going to get his revenge on Bludgeon as long as the Decepticons ran things, Banzai moved on.

As a refugee, he moved to Iacon, where he joined an Autobot cell, who recruited him for his hacking abilities. It was there that he excelled and learned most of his combat skills. He had already had experience in scouting, so he was assigned to that division. He was renowned for getting into trouble, and rushing into situations when others weren't ready. This served to get him many reprimands from his leadership. Finally, he grew up. He figured out that he had to rely on others to stay alive in the escalation of the war, so he got with the program and turned out to be a pretty good soldier.

Since the lull in the civil war, Banzai has been assigned to Ultra Magnus' crack commando team. Here, he had finally found his element, and a commander that he both respected and liked. Over the centuries, he and Ultra Magnus have developed a relationship akin to brotherhood. Banzai feels that Ultra Magnus is the only one who truly understand where he's coming from. Now he is tasked with being the second in command of a sudden mission into deep space, and his team have all been replaced. He both looks forward to the challenge, and dreads having to learn a whole new group of people.

Commanders’ Notes

Ultra Magnus

I've served with Banzai for centuries, and he never fails to surprise me. His unorthodox leadership style has gotten us out of tangles when I thought we were through. He was highly respected by my old team, and I expect he will earn the respect of this new team as well.

Optimus Prime

Banzai's reputation precedes him. I have heard for centuries stories of those who have served with him. I had the honor of serving with him once, and I found out that the stories are all true. He is a loose cannon, and very unorthodox in his approach to tough problems. He's an asset to any team he serves on.

Rodimus

Its a real wonder this guy never got anybody killed with some of the lame-brained things he's done in the past. Its good to see he's matured a lot, because if he was the same guy he was ages ago, we would all be in trouble. I honestly think he was more of an asset to the Decepticons than to us. We'll see how things pan out for this new post. If ULtra Magnus trusts him, more power to him.
