The destruction of Unicron creates a black hole that threatens to destroy Cybertron. Optimus Prime meets Vector Prime, who claims he's the keeper of time, and tells the tale of an armada that left Cybertron in the distant past that contained Cyberplanet Keys to make planets into Cybertronian planets. While showing the Autobots the map to the keys, Megatron and the Decepticons attack, stealing the map. After the attack, Optimus Prime orders the evacuation of Cybertron, and as the evacuation begins, a message is received from deep space. The message is a scan of a Cybertronian planet, with the accompanying data. All contact is lost with the reporting ship and it is decided that an expedition will be sent to check out this planet. Ultra Magnus is ordered to assemble a team and investigate since the space bridge cannot reach that far out into unexplored space.
Megatron finds out about the Autobot expedition and orders Shockblast to assemble a team to shadow them. He gives Shockblast instructions to make sure any Cyberplanet Keys found by the Autobots are taken and brought to him. Chances are the Cyberplanet Key used to make this planet is still there, and can be used to further the Decepticon cause.
Both teams get caught up in a mystery bigger than they think when they discover the existence of the Elemental Keys. As they fight on, the mystery of the Children of Axalon unravels around them.

Background
Transformers: Cybertron is an alternate reality of the Armada/Energon universe. It is a complicated continuity that involves those two shows, plus the Universe comic series. Unicron has been destroyed creating a giant black hole that is threatening to destroy the whole universe. The only thing that can stop this is the re-awakening of Primus by finding the Cyberplanet Keys. In this reality, the Minicons appeared with Vector Prime, so their backstory is gone. Even the story as it was told in Armada and Energon didn't happen. This reality is totally different from those and from the G1 reality. But through this series and the Universe series, all of the continuities can be connected. The common denominator is the destruction of Unicron. There is a strong yin/yang theme going on in this one, so watch for it in the Children of Axalon RPG as well.
Unknown Spark Keys
There are 4 elemental keys and 2 Necromatic Keys that form the unknown spark. Earth, Wind, Fire, Water are the four elemental keys. Light and Dark are the two Necromatic Keys. Each will be dealt with separately.
Elemental Keys
Earth - Using this elemental taps the primal powers of the spark, which adds the danger of turning the user feral for a short time. It can be used to
Wind - Using this elemental also allows the control of temperature, more specifically, the colder temperatures. It also allows for the control of air currents and high winds. Teleportation is also a major power associated with the wind elemental.
Fire - This elemental also controls temperatures, those on the hotter end. It also allows for heat detection and creation (or forging) of weapons and armor. Then there's the ole standard fireball.
Water - This element controls fluids, such as water and liquid gases. Its also capable of producing illusions, ice and steam.
Necromantic Keys
Light - This necromantic key controls such things as healing and light. It can remove curses and restore sparks to life.
Dark - This necromantic key controls such things as cursing, poisoning and smiting and other such dark things.
Current Adventure
Autobots and Decepticons are on their way to the mysterious Cybertronian planet found by the "Nebula One" exploration ship. What will they find when they reach The Lonely Planet.
