Summary:

Taisu is the archetypal shosa caste member; he is dedicated to the preservation of the order of Hiranipra, given to the people of the Floating Kingdom by the great goddess Wuanshu. He has little interest in the philosophy of the kona, and though he respects the work done by the fia, he knows that their path is not his. His low magical abilities are unusual, admittedly, but his natural proclivity for the life as a warrior of the Floating Kingdom makes up for that deficiency. Though the Hirani have never actually fought against another nation, the shosa’ani conduct extensive, unscripted wargames, and Taisu’s consistently high marks in those exercises earned him the position as both shosa’kui and representative of his caste at the Bantuss convention.

Taisu is 6’8” and weighs 200 lbs, with dark, chocolate-brown skin, amber eyes flecked with grey and a shaved head, save for a single braid of black hair that starts at the top of his head, and reaches down to his shoulders.

Equipment:

• Moon bracers – The badge of office of shosa’kui, a matching pair of copper bracers, marked with aethracite designs, centered around a crescent moon in the middle of the guards.

• Sho’san Keiko – Though Taisu believes in the ancient order put forward by Wuanshu, he is not afraid of new techniques and tools. One such technique is an experimental new primal clay warrior, Keiko; unlike the standard bulky, juggernaut-like sho’san, Keiko is designed to move quickly, trading power for speed. Although Taisu serves in the shosa’tae, he has been ordered to deploy Keiko with him when he reaches Bantuss, both as a precaution and a field test.
