(CA7.2) War and Peace...
From Axalon RPG
from Cybertronian Alpha RPG, Chapter 7: Genesis of Extinction
The 'heroes', such as they are, rest after the battle with Cyrex, possessed by one of the Endless. It is relatively easy for them to escape Cage’s forces, as he ordered them not pursue. The reason behind that is unknown, but likely sinister. Being Cage, it is certainly not out of kindness or charity. Pyre reappears, but this time he appears privately to Jungle. The Dark One gives a rather ominous warning in that if things continued as they were that everything would fall to dust. Pyre also mentions that this would be their only meeting. Jungle keeps the entire encounter to himself.
More fun with Pyre ensues: the group receives video-orb messages from Ashen, who is in fact a much older version of Pyre - it's all to do with the FNOTI, although whether this Pyre and the other Pyre are from the same timeline is unclear. Ashen informs the heroes that it was vital that they assist the Carcanens in fending off an attack from their rivals, the Carbations. Of note, the Carbation Overlord is revealed to be Arc, a past foe with an axe to grind. Cyan and company decide it best to heed Ashen’s advice.
Towards the end of the battle, Backlash is killed in a massive explosion, which - coincidentally - opens a Time Shard. Through the rift, Cyan recognized the Predacons visible through the Time Shard as Unicron's Mercs, are a highly skilled team which included her mother, Lightspeed, her step father, Prism and some other acquaintances - including, on occasion, Backlash (again, coincidentally). The team broke up before she was brought online, but she knows it by reputation and her mother's stories.
Ashen directs that two of them, no more and no less, should travel through the time shard to try and recruit the Mercs to their cause. It is likely to be a tough sell. Jungle volunteers to join Cyan on the trip, perhaps because he doesn't trust her. Upon passing through, the two of them reappeared on Predacon Base RPG.
This left Icerunner with the difficult task of keeping things together on CA3 until Cyan and Jungle (or one or the other) returned. No small feat.
